What the safety training check covers

Eight points that matter for mandatory safety training.

Regularity

Are all employees trained at least once a year?

Occupational safety law requires regular, usually annual training – for everyone, not only new employees.

Language

Are all employees trained in a language they understand with confidence?

Many employees speak enough German for everyday work, but not enough to follow safety training with confidence.

Proof

Can you prove each person's training at any time?

During an inspection or after an accident you must show who was trained on which topic and when.

New starters

Are new employees trained before their first working day?

Initial training must take place before work begins – including temporary and agency staff.

Effectiveness

Do you check whether the content was understood?

The law requires you to make sure the training was understood – for example with a short knowledge check.

Content

Is the training tailored to the respective activities and hazards?

After an accident at work, general training without content specific to the actual activity is usually not enough.

Overview

Do you always know who is trained and when training is due again?

Without an overview, deadlines pass unnoticed – especially across several sites.

Reach

Do you also reach employees who are not on site?

Construction sites, field service, assembly, home office or changing locations – these employees often miss on-site sessions.
